Life Transitions
"The only constant in life is change."
Career change
When you start your workday, do you:
|
Each of us is a masterpiece placed on earth for our own unique purposes that are solely ours to fulfill. You have assets, such as natural gifts and talents, spiritual gifts, education, and material resources. Through coaching, we will help you examine and bring together your assets and your strengths, your personality and communication styles, your core values, and your life experiences. The process of understanding how they all fit together will be the beginning of a journey to discover your purposes in both your personal life and in your work. We can help you with your resume and teach you to network your way into a new, fulfilling dream job/career that was meant just for you.
Teen transitions
As parents, we want the best for our children, and we work hard to raise them into happy, healthy, and functioning adults. Each phase of childhood presents new and different challenges, with the tween and teen years being the most difficult. Children in middle school and high school are going through very rapid hormonal, physical and mental changes. Many parents ask themselves, "What happened to my sweet child?" While the behaviors adolescents display can be frustrating, most of them are normal for the developmental stage they're in. Just knowing that alone can bring some relief for parents. The Kairos Center coaches help parents understand their teens better, and learn how to respond in a way that doesn't create power struggles or frustration. Kairos coaches also work with teens to help them manage the changes they're going through. We help them create a vision of the future they desire, a plan for how they will get there, and specific goals with timing and accountability built in. We also help them get organized; learn to balance their academics, extra-curricular activities, and social lives; and other life skills they'll carry with them into college and beyond.
There's not a person alive who hasn't gone through a transition. Life is one change after another. Some changes are desired, some are predictable, and some are unwanted and painful. No matter what kind of change occurs, it is a time of high emotions as we let go of what was and accept what is to come. How we respond to transitions determines the quality of our lives as we move into our new future. Coaches are invaluable during transitions. We walk alongside you and support you by honoring and acknowledging your feelings. We help you become aware of the phases of change, which helps you see where you are in the process, and that you're not alone in your feelings. We listen for understanding and reflect back to help you gain perspective. We also discuss your vision, mission and values, and how they fit into the new chapter of your life. Kairos Center coaches will walk side-by-side with you through the transition process, and we'll help you to keep looking and moving forward.

"Kathy has a wonderful way of asking the right questions. She helped me focus on creating the steps to be successful in looking for my new career. She also encouraged me to envision the two career paths that I'm interested in. I had never done that before, and it really helped me see myself in those roles. I was very encouraged working with her, and I highly recommend Kathy as a Life Coach!" - Robyn
